New Patient Registration

Register with the practice as a new patient

How to Register

Check that you live within the boundary area

To access our registration process, first check that you are in our catchment area. If you have any questions about your eligibility to join this surgery, please contact us.

The Practice will not refuse registration on any of the following grounds:

  • Race
  • Gender or gender reassignment
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Age
  • Religion or belief
  • Social class
  • Appearance or lifestyle
  • Medical condition
  • Marriage or civil partnership
  • Pregnancy or maternity

Important

We may refuse registration if:

  • You do not live within the practice boundary
  • You have been removed from the list previously
  • You have a known history of violence

New patients should ensure they have enough medication to last until their records are transferred or an appointment is made with their GP.

For more details on our registration process, please read our new patient registration and out-of-area policy.

Surgeries

We are proud to be a safe surgery for everyone in our community, and pledge to ensure that everyone in our community receives the quality healthcare they are entitled to.

In partnership with Doctors of the World UK, we will ensure that our practice offers a welcoming space for everyone who seeks to use our services. We will ensure that a lack of identification, proof of address, or immigration status do not prevent patient registration.

As a member of the Safe Surgeries community, we will endeavour to support other Safe Surgeries and the development of the network.

If you wish to register, please speak to a member of staff who can help and support you with the process of registration.

NHS Account Messaging Service

We use the NHS Account Messaging Service provided by NHS England to send you messages relating to your health and care. You need to be an NHS App user to receive these messages.

Further information about the service can be found at the privacy notice for the NHS App managed by NHS England

Temporary Services

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a Doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Your Named GP

New patients have a named GP. If you need an appointment please always ask for that GP as we strongly believe that continuity of care builds strong relationships, saves time and improves outcomes for care.

When you join the practice, you will be given a named GP. This is the GP who will have overall responsibility for your care whilst at the practice. If you wish to know who your named GP is, please ask at reception. If you have a preference of GP, please let us know and we will endeavour to comply with it.

This arrangement does not restrict in any way which GP you can see at the practice – you will be able to book appointments with any of our GPs regardless of who your named GP is.
